Map Description:
This map depicts the islands of Vanuatu and New Caledonia. They are in the Polynesian region (southern islands) of the South Pacific. The indigenous languages spoken here are all in the Austronesian language family, and primarily the Central-Eastern Oceanic subgroup. However, languages from the Polynesian subgroup are also displayed.
This original map was made by vectorizing data from the MultiTree language database and the Atlas of the World's Languages.
